On Saturday, November 28th, Chuck’s Hop Shop Greenwood celebrated Small Business Saturday. Chuck’s partnered with AMEX and food trucks Bread & Circuses, Hallava Falafel, and Wood Shop BBQ to raise money for the Greenwood Food Bank.

Chuck’s (Greenwood and Central District) is a great place to find food trucks on a daily basis. You can find a calendar for each location online or a paper version onsite. Chuck’s offers a great selection of beer, cider, and soda. It’s a great place to hang out with kids. Aside from beer, you can get a scoop of Full Tilt ice cream. They even carry ube now! And, in case you need to bring your dog, they’re always welcome here.

As a special that day, $15 bought a flight of beers from four local breweries plus a three course meal from the trucks. If that wasn’t enough, each purchase got you an entry into a drawing to win prizes from businesses in Greenwood and Ballard. To top it all off, 100% of the profits went to the Greenwood Food Bank!

Spinach Paneer ‘Dilla by Bread & Circuses |
As you all know, I’m a firm supporter of food trucks. Most (not all) are small businesses. They rely on us this time of year whether it’s on regular routes, special events, or catering. I was late to the party due to other obligations. I showed up towards the end of the day and everyone was in a jovial mood. What’s not to love? Beer + food trucks + a good cause = smiles for days!
